Raising
Mastino is a dog whose instinct
is to guard everything that he possesses. Noone in any way
should encourage his aggression and possessiveness, or we
risk raising a beast which we won’t have control over anymore.
Incorrect raising of a Mastino can lead people to think
wrongly about this breed. More than ascribe them negative,
innate features about their psychical characteristics are
also good to know. To satisfy our interest, we must know
that their environment usually influences more of a dog’s
behavior than heredity factors. With proper handling and
raising, we can strengthen desired characteristics and reduce
unwished ones.
Mastino is not a working
dog. You can do basic listening exercises, but don’t forget
to ask the dog school to teach you about ways to acquire
authority. This is not a way of commanding or physically
restraining the dog, but the right way to deal with the
dog. |
